Quality Survey on Ceyhan Marine Terminal for the Environmental Impact Assessment
Studies June 2004 (Completed)
In
this project, a number of sampling has been performed to search for sediment
quality in the related area. The sampling locations are decided after examining
seabed by use of a remotely operating camera system (ROV).
Below
tests have been conducted on samples:

Chemical
Analysis to analyze the content of total petroleum hydrocarbons, trace
metals, carbonate and organic contents,
-
Benthic
survey,
-
Water
column turbidity and particle size distribution.
The figure on the
right demonstrates Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) distribution on the
area. |

As
a result of these analyses, contamination level in the area is concluded.
