Sediment Quality Survey on Ceyhan Marine Terminal for the Environmental Impact Assessment Studies June 2004 (Completed)

In this project, a number of sampling has been performed to search for sediment quality in the related area. The sampling locations are decided after examining seabed by use of a remotely operating camera system (ROV).

Below tests have been conducted on samples: Chemical Analysis to analyze the content of total petroleum hydrocarbons, trace metals, carbonate and organic contents, Benthic survey, Water column turbidity and particle size distribution.   The figure on the right demonstrates Total Petroleum Hydrocarbon (TPH) distribution on the area.

As a result of these analyses, contamination level in the area is concluded.
